Yummy Punjaby or YP as it is affectionately called, is the dream child of an ex-merchant navy captain who also is a hobbyist chef. The balle-balle, whisky shisky imagery and jokes apart, the captain was always longing for home food even while on board his ship – and herein lies the twist in the tale.During his childhood standing in the kitchen with his Mom & assisting her, he mastered some of the art of cooking. Throughout the 25 years of world-wide sailing, he used this art and trained many a foreign cooks to prepare exotic north Indian parathas and other dishes. And when he finally anchored in Singapore, he thought of starting this new concept to serve the multi-national people in this beautiful country with “Yummy, Healthy, Traditional Punjaby Cuisine“. The exotic spices are made to perfection using the right proportion of 15 odd herbs & spices by his Mom.
It would be fair to say that the culinary journey has only begun and the passage is not so smooth. As our ex-President says:
” Difficulties in your life do not come to destroy you but to realize your hidden potential and power. Let difficulties know that you too are difficult ” –APJ Kalam Azaad
” Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” – Thomas A. Edison
With the grace of Almighty, the YP creamy butter chicken and dal makhani along with the wholesome alu, gobi, mooli & other parathas are already a mouth watering success. Needless to say, the blessings of parents and support of Friends and well wishers, is as vital an ingredient to YP’s name and fame, as the yummy cuisine.
